Feed Your Inner Tomboy

December 5, 2014

Hey Guys!

Right now I’m all jazzed up on coffee. Sooo, while simultaneously working, eating my avocado toast, and shopping for Christmas presents, I thought I’d post an outfit-of-the-day for y’all.

I had the realization as I left the house this morning that, with the exception of my boots, I am in head-to-toe Madewell. Ooops! Madewell has some really lovely girlie-girl things – tops, skirts, sweet dresses; however, I’ve found, that Madewell feeds my inner tomboy.

I shop small businesses whenever I can, but I can’t help but love Madewell and shop them often for styles that I know I’ll have for a long time.  Madewell is great for building basic staples into your wardrobe: soft cotton tops and baseball style tees, comfortable and flattering denim, and really great jackets and outerwear.  I’ve built up a nice little collection of solid long sleeve tops  that I pretty much wear every day – whether on its own or layered beneath a sweater, cardigan, or flannel.

P.S. Madewell is running a sale: 30% all sale styles with code : MERRIEST

Skinny Skinny Jeans | Madewell

Front Runner Tee | Madewell

Plaid Top| Penfield for Madewell | similar here OR just check all of them out

Sinclair Boots | Nicora Johns  {still on sale for $198! marked down from $250}

Hazelton Jacket cotton/nylon blend . Surprisingly warm ! | Penfield

Penfield has a nice history behind them. Originally started in Massachusetts {where I originally hail from!} they were pioneers in the outerwear industry. They have a traditional New England aesthetic, which is probably why I’m so drawn to them. Unfortunately, many of their styles contain either wool or down, which we all know are not cruelty-free.

I LOVE my Hazelton Jacket because it’s not bulky, has a detachable hood, a nice hand-feel, and is free from down, fur, or wool.  The detachable hood has a faux-fur trim that does look a bit eerily real. So real, in fact, that I had to check, double-check, and triple-check to make sure it was faux. I also think it looks pretty darn sleek if I do say so myself!

Get on with your bad self and happy Friday!

The sinclair boots are sooo pretty! Do you know if they will ever go back on sale? Or any similar style for cheaper? (:
